SVGator MCP: Animate and Export with AI

Learn how to set up the SVGator MCP and run your animation projects straight from a chat with your AI assistant, no clicking through the editor.
The connector plugs SVGator into any AI assistant that supports a custom MCP server, so browsing, editing, and exporting projects all happen in conversation. Setup takes a few clicks.
Step 1 - Open The Connectors Section In Your AI Assistant
Claude works as the example here, though the flow stays close to identical across models. Open Settings, go to Connectors, and click Browse Connectors to pull up the full directory.
Step 2 - Search For SVGator And Connect
Type SVGator into the search field and click Connect. A browser window opens, so sign into SVGator and approve access from there. The connector then shows as connected, and the SVGator tools go live inside every chat.
Step 3 - Add SVGator As A Custom Connector Instead
Prefer a manual setup? Add SVGator as a custom connector using the server URL, then sign in and approve access the same way. The end result is identical to the directory route.
Step 4 - Run The MCP Through A Coding Agent
One quick tip before the first prompt: the MCP runs smoothest inside a coding agent. Pair it with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or Grok whenever the option is there.
Step 5 - Build A Project From A Prompt
With the tools live, describe the animation and let the MCP handle the rest. Entire projects can be created from scratch this way, though the real strength shows up in the editing steps that follow.
Step 6 - Activate The Motion Skills For Realistic Movement
The MCP comes with built-in skills that improve how motion behaves in a project. They trigger automatically when the AI decides a prompt calls for them, and naming a skill directly in the prompt activates it manually. Running the same prompt twice, once with the motion skill and once without, shows the gap between animation that moves and animation that feels alive.
Step 7 - Edit Projects That Already Exist
Since building from zero is only half of what the connector does, point it at a project already in the account instead. Explain the change, and the repetitive part of the job gets done without the editor ever opening.
Step 8 - Create Color Variations Or Apply A New Palette
Color work becomes a single instruction once edits run on existing projects. Explain what needs to change, whether that means one new palette or a set of variations built from the same file, and watch it happen across the project.
Step 9 - Resize One Element Or Several At Once
Scaling follows the same pattern as color. Name the element, or several elements in the same scene, give the new size, and prompt it.
Step 10 - Fine-Tune Easing And Reshape How Elements Move
Motion that feels stiff, mechanical, or just wrong usually traces back to easing. Hand that problem to the MCP with the motion skill active, and the timing gets reworked until the movement feels natural. Animations that look incredible no longer require a motion wizard.
Step 11 - Turn A Template Into Your Own Project
The MCP works with the SVGator template library, so a finished animation can start from something already built. Prepare the assets first so they are optimized and clearly named, then drop them into the asset library. Choose the template and write the prompt describing how the two come together.
Step 12 - Bulk Export Multiple Projects In One Prompt
Exporting projects one by one, then re-exporting when a requirement changes, is the last piece the MCP takes off the list. Name the projects, the formats, and any specs they need to meet, then send a single prompt. Everything comes back exported, and the time saved goes toward something better, like a coffee break.
