FAQ

1. Can I import my Adobe Animate files into SVGator?

SVGator can't open FLA or XFL files, the proprietary formats Adobe Animate saves to. Export your assets from Animate as SVG, open them in Figma, then Copy as SVG and paste into SVGator. Uploaded SVG has to be static, so the artwork comes through and you rebuild the motion on SVGator's timeline.

2. How similar is SVGator's workflow to Adobe Animate's?

SVGator's workflow matches Adobe Animate's on the fundamentals: a keyframe timeline, layers, easing, and real-time preview. If you've built animations on Animate's timeline, the editor will feel familiar. The output is where SVGator differs. Every animation exports as clean, lightweight SVG code that ships straight to the browser.

3. Do SVGator animations need a player or any runtime dependencies?

SVGator's CSS exports need no player and no runtime dependency, because browsers render CSS animation natively. SVG exported with JavaScript carries a lightweight player, embedded in the file or loaded from SVGator's CDN. Lottie exports use the standard Lottie player. CSS doesn't cover morphing, curved motion paths, or on-click interactivity, though, so those export as JavaScript.

4. What file formats can I export from SVGator?

SVGator exports SVG in CSS or JavaScript straight from the export panel, with no converters or third-party plugins. You can also export as Lottie JSON, GIF, or video, plus Optimized JSON, APNG, WebP, React Native and Flutter. Video covers MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI and MKV. Paid plans reach 4K; free exports cap GIF at 256 x 256 and video at 1024 x 576.

5. Can I add hover, click and scroll interactivity in SVGator without writing code?

SVGator lets you add interactivity without writing code. The triggers are in the export panel: on load, on hover, on click, or on scroll into view, plus second-click and mouse-out actions. CSS handles on load and on hover only, so click and scroll need the JavaScript export, and a trigger drives the whole animation rather than single elements. Interactivity and the Player API both need a paid plan.

6. Do I need to install anything to use SVGator?

SVGator runs in your browser, so there's nothing to download or install. Your projects stay in your account and open on any machine you sign in from. Optional plugins exist for Figma and WordPress, but neither is required, and the Figma plugin works on any plan including the free one.

7. Is SVGator suitable for professional production work?

SVGator handles professional production work: website animations, app onboarding, icons, loaders, and marketing graphics. It has been running since 2017, with 130K+ active users globally and more than 2 million animation projects created. Exports come out as production-ready code, so the animation you approve is the file that goes into the build.
